Ryan McGinley, “Amanda Falling, Marionville, Missouri”
I don’t like very much of McGinley’s work despite him being one of the more influential young photographers. He does produce work that for me stands out magnificently from what I feel is a body of work that’s relies heavily on pretty (vacant) young people running around being young and pretty. Then again I like Larry Clark so maybe its just having to deal with club kids up close from living in Williamsburg during the early 00’s that turns me off.
